Kok Ngee’s 25th Birthday

Got a chance to play with new Samsung’s hybrid camera, NX10. At first, I’m cynical about using a prosumer camera as I already owned a DSLR. But the photos proved me wrong. This camera not only "wowed” my friends, even  they found it to be user friendly and light. It uses APS-C CMOS sensor.  I googled the definition of APS-C CMOS sensor in Wikipedia.
Immediately, I close the window. *YAWNS*

I’m not a very technical person. Because I’m a girl? LOL.

I do know the so-called key words of what constitutes a good camera body.

To my knowledge, CMOS sensor is not even found in my Nikon D40!!! Very good camera bodies such as Nikon D5000, D90 and D300 use CMOS sensor. That blew me away…
image Look at the sensor size, compared to a compact & four-thirds camera.

What is Samsung famous for? First thing that come to my mind is, LED computer/TV monitors which I have been thinking very long to own one for my post-processing. They are the best sellers in the market.

GUESS WHAT?

NX10’s 3.0 inch large screen is also using AMOLED.
Before you go, huh? What am I talking about? Let me paste this info…
AMOLED (Active-Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode), so called a dream
display because it’s thinner, brighter, faster in response time, and
is excellent in colour reproduction. AMOLED produces incredibly clear
can be
viewed even in bright sunlight. AMOLED is also 3,000 times
faster in its response rate than LCD
, expresses sharp pictures
with bright colours evenly lit with no side or backlighting, and
allows us to
view display at any angle. In addition, its dynamic
10,000:1 contrast ratio provides clearer images in true colours*
* When operated at optimal temperature, 25ÂșC

UP LA!

After reading up so much info, the best way to maximise NX10’s capabilites?
~~~ Look below ~~~
Besides review Samsung NX10, I’m also trying to poison Guo Dong into photography.
Dong playing with my D40, one without a APS-CMOS sensor. Sob~
004
My love… Look how it is able to capture the ambient light atmosphere even with the use of flash, which often makes the surrounding background turns dark. And it’s SHARP!!!!
Our birthday boy, Kok Ngee
008
I have never seen someone who make birthday wishes with serious expression. And he made the longest birthday wish. At one time, I though he fell asleep.
011
The colours are nice. Make all of us looked so PRETTY wor…
012
This photo made Peiyun, Meiyan and me look extra. *Erm hm*
014
The guyzzz
015
Meiyan has this unusual birthday ritual to pose with a DSLR, like she’s using it. LOL! Check out the ambient light again.
017
30mm lens. F2.0. 1/30 seconds. Me zai bo? I love the bokeh effect and I’m addicted using aperture at F2.0. For armature photographers like myself, plus I hardly got any muscles, my hand shake is terrible. However, NX10 has this image stabilizer which prevents hand shake and that results in the photo above. SHARP!
Cam-whoring shots.
Look at how small the camera is. Very light as well.
This is some serious bokeh. The focus was on the lady behind. Haha!
035
Wenwei’s shot. I made it tinted. Romantic hor?
I’m very satisfied with this camera. More photos coming up…
